Benton Huish

My first little nephew on my side of the family was born yesterday, and I am so excited. Richard Benton Huish...born August 6th, at 7:15 pm, 7lbs. 8 oz. Yes, Kim looks like she was just having a normal day because she did deliver him in less than 6 hours from checking into the hospital, and had him like 4 days early. How does someone get that lucky on their first child. I am so jealous. We are going to Vegas tomorrow to visit for the weekend so I am sure there will be many more pictures to follow. Can't wait to meet you Benton!

the BOYS in Wyoming

The Boys had a wonderful and dirty time in Wyoming. They basically played on Gary's farm all day long. Visiting the animals, playing with guns, riding on the four wheelers, and playing at the lake/fishing. It was definitely the ideal trip for Sawyer and Tyson to be without me.

Sawyer and Jeffrey are so cute when they get together. Its like they are brothers...they have so much fun playing and goofing off together.

Although I am not the biggest outdoors person I do have to say that Wyoming is a beautiful place

Sawyer fit right in there, and started to carry his gun with him

Sawyer hadn't slept in a hotel room since he was a baby so he thought it was so cool to have his own bed in a room with his Dad. Tyson said that he would talk for a while after getting in bed, going over everything that they did for the day

There will probably be a part two to this post because we have a bunch more pictures that are on my camera's memory and I don't have the cord to put them on my computer.

Alone...

While my Husband and son are off doing this, I finely have sometime for blogging again.

Well, maybe not actually riding a bull, but seeing one. Tyson took Sawyer to Wyoming for five days...what is a girl to do with herself when she has no one but herself to take care of? Its has been such a nice day of catching up on some stuff, going to the beach with Katie, and now getting ready to meet Sarah for some shopping and dinner. I hope I don't start enjoying this time off too much. It might be hard to get into the swing of things again next week.

Kim's Baby Shower

Carolyn and I, but mostly Carolyn and my Mom, got to throw Kim a little baby shower for the people that she knows down here. I can't believe that I am going to have a cute new baby nephew here in a few weeks. I just wish that we lived closer to them so that we could spend more time together, especially now that we will both be Moms.

Our cousins Jamie and Johanna drove down from LA, it was great to chat with them for a bit, and so nice of them to drive down.

Kim got some great gifts, now we just need the baby to get here!

Summer at the Beach House

So we were lucky enough to start our summer off with almost a week at the beach house which was heavenly. The Biesingers came to join us which made it so much more enjoyable for all of us. It was so nice for Sawyer to have his friends to play with...me to have my friend to talk with...and Tyson to have a friend to do things with, like borrowing the neighbors Kayak and playing the bean bag toss game. This will definitely be something that we need to keep up with every year. Of course I took most of these collages from Lillie's blog because she does such a better job with the picture taking and the collaging.

We spent most all of our days relaxing on the beach and playing in the water...

The kids were so happy and entertained all of the time

One of the days we headed to three arch for a little change of scenery

I am sad that I didn't get more pictures by the fire while we ate smore after smore and enjoyed evening company with the kids sleeping. Sophia did pop out and catch us one night... it was so cute and funny how disappointed she was that she caught us doing stuff without them.

BBQ's and Fireworks

Even though we had just been at my parents last weekend, and I am moving there for the summer this next weekend I couldn't miss out on the 4th of July at the beach. Its supposed to be about barbecuing and laying out, and then fireworks on the beach, not a day of 110 degrees where you are trapped inside all day, and then fireworks at the local college. And so we went again for the weekend. We swam at my parents all day and then did the all american dinner of hamburgers, potato salald, chips, and fruit.

and then off to the beach just in time for a little playing before the fireworks actually started
my Dad took us back to the 80's with his boom box to play the festive music on the radio

I just love the 4th, and already can't wait til next year!
On Tyson's actual birthday he had to work and so we celebrated that night with some friends and family. I made cafe rio salads for dinner that were so good I wished I could have eaten two, or maybe I was just extra hungry that night. Then we sang and had coconut cake. Sawyer thought the cake was his present to Tyson which was pretty funny.

The best coconut cake and lemon buttermilk ice cream.

Mila really loved the ice cream and had no problem eating it with her hands

Then we did a boy vs. girl game of taboo, and the girls let the boys win since it was Tyson's birthday

more weekend fun

Besides celebrating Kate's birthday we were able to go to the beach one day, and it was absolutely perfect.

I love that Sawyer is old enough now to somewhat entertain himself so Tyson and I can enjoy a little relaxing too.

Sawyer asked me to take a picture of him and collins
We also celebrated Tyson's 32nd birthday with my parents. Tyson got to choose dinner and which kind of cake he wanted...none of us were at all suprised when we he wanted Pei Wei for dinner and my Mom's amazing german chocolate cake.

And then we celebrated again with Tyson's family because they will be in Wyoming all summer.

Katie's 30th Birthday

Katie was lucky enough to have a great husband plan a fun surprise 30th birthday for her this weekend. All we knew before hand was to arrive at 5:45 on Saturday night and to dress casual. I tried and tried to get something out of him about what we would be doing, but Steve held strong on the suprise. These are all the girls that arrived on time...not to make anyone feel bad, it's just who I got in the picture.
I was so excited that Stace happened to be here this weekend.
While we were waiting for everyone to arrive a HUGE hummer limo pulled up to take us around for the night.
The birthday girl making her grand entrance at our first stop: Javier's

We happened to run into Collins and Kaui while we were seated outside for dinner. What a great couple.

After dinner we piled back in the limo and partied it up until our next stop: Miniature Golf
I am a little embarrassed of my golfing skills. I swear I used to be good back in the day when I would go frequently to my Dad's, but its not like riding a bike where once you know how you can always do it. I was definitely the worst in my little group.
Here are a few from the limo. It was so much fun to all be in the car together...talking and laughing and enjoying our shasta drinks and water.
Thanks Kate and Steve for a great night!

Grandma in town

Whenever Tyson's mom comes to town we always know that a couple of things will take place...fun dinners, ice cream sundaes, Target runs so that Sawyer can pick out some toys, and breakfast at Panera. This time we had all day friday, and with the HEAT that we live in we had to plan something to do inside. So, we decided to take Sawyer to his first movie at the movie theater...Up!
Sawyer insisted on wearing his scout hat and batman backpack, filled with treats, so that he could look like the little boy Russell in the movie. He was so excited when we walked in, and kept saying every few seconds...Mom, this is the MOVIES! It was so cute. He of course had to get some candy from the bins, and grandma even got popcorn.
I thought for sure I would be embarrassed in the middle of the movie when Sawyer would get bored and start to get chit chatty , but he loved the whole experience and I basically never heard a peep from him... except when he noticed that Russell wasn't wearing his hat and wanted to know where his scout hat went. I swear if this scout obsession keeps up I am going to have an eagle scout in a few years.
That night we went to Yard House for a massive selection of appetizers which is one of our favorite things to do
and then to B & J's for some ice cream. Sawyer wasn't accomplishing much with his spoon so he decided to drink what had melted like a shake.
Now on to the new treat from Target. A Buzz Lightyear Kite. Normally Sawyer has no idea what he wants when Grandma takes him to Target and he is back and forth for way to long deciding between the motorcycle and car that he always loves. But this time he knew in advance that he wanted a kite. I was excited too because where we live tends to be a little windy in the spring/summer and so at least we could find some enjoyment with it.
It only took about 5 minutes to watch the kite's handle fly out of Tyson's hands, and quickly into our neighbors backyard. No big deal we thought, Tyson can just hop the wall and go get it. If only it would have been that easy. Instead we found ourselves with brooms and ladders as we got one part of the kite in one yard, and the rest of it on the roof of another neighbors house. Let me just say that we really love our son because it was hot and humid, I was sweating like crazy and it took about an hour to get it back. If only we could have just sucked up the 7 dollars to go buy a new one.
