Magnolia's Birth

our Family

Magnolia's birth was so great, at least when talking about a childs birth. I was a little nervous for the hospital experience because I had a little bit of a rough time with Sawyer, but this time made me feel like I could do it all again! I started having contractions about six that morning, and so it worked out perfect that I had a Dr. appointment that morning at ten. He came in and checked me, said I was a 5 and told me to drive straight to the hospital. I went and picked up Tyson and we were on our way, and checked in at noon. My nurse was so sweet and nice, which I think can make all the difference. My Mom got to the hospital about two, and then I got my epidural a few minutes later. At that point I was a 6, but honestly felt pretty good. The nurse kept saying that she felt like I should be in pain, but I was acting like everything was normal. We just sat and waited for me to progress, and at about seven I made Tyson turn the Laker game off and get serious because I knew I needed to start pushing. And then there she was! I got a little emotional this time, I think I got to take it all in more because I wasn't so tired. Then Sarah brought Sawyer right over so that he would get to see her. It was so cute to see him with her. I feel like he was almost more excited than Tyson and I. The next day we came home and she has seriously been a perfect angel ever since. Its crazy how different it has been for me this time. I had a tough time in the beginning with Sawyer, mainly not knowing what to expect and feeling a little inadequate. But, I am already so grateful for the little knowledge I have this time, and how much more relaxed I can be about it all. I can't wait for the next few weeks to see how she will already change.

What a little doll! I'm feeling so bad I missed you at the Easter Egg Hunt, although I'm shocked you were there. You must be feeling good!! :) I'm glad it was such a good experience. You don't look like you just had a baby, by the way. What a sweet family picture...I love those hospital pictures with the kids on the bed. There's nothing like those first couple of days and I'm so glad to see pictures of her. Can't wait to see her in person! CONGRATULATIONS!!

I agree the second time is so much easier. You just feel competent and kind of know where the rough patches are going to be. I can't wait to get to know baby M better.
