in New York

we walked in pouring rain like I have never seen before...
our jeans were soaked, my tory burch shoes were ruined, my feet were dyed black from wet leather, tyson had to ring out his socks, collins was mad, and benton and kim were troopers.
our first day was maybe not my favorite.
but we ate lots of cupcakes, and hot dogs and pizza, and then more pizza.

the next day was a little too hot for my boots and sweater. I actually walked around in leggings and a shorter shirt, just to take off layers.
we ate the best donuts ever at doughnut plant: creme brulee, coconut creme, salty peanut butter, chocolate chip cookie, cinnamon and sugar, blueberry, and chocolate. I felt a little sick after.
we shopped in FAO schwartz and Dylans candy for the kids.
we strolled central park and ate shake shack.
we enjoyed tourism in time square.
collins planked all over the city, but the street one was my favorite.

last, but my favorite...
we did the greenwich food tour.
it was so fun to see and try so many different foods.
i saw johnny depp.
i want to buy a multi millions dollar home in the city, maybe someday?

tyler and kim had such a darling house, with a perfect basement for their siblings.
we ate pizza every night for dinner, and ice cream for dessert.
i seriously LOVE new york! and my mom and dad who will take care of our kids.

Beach House... part 2

I have been meaning to get the pictures Lillie took of our trip forever. Yesterday she told me that her computer crashed...so here are mostly ones I stole from her blog, and a few of my own. I am sure it is pretty obvious which ones are mine.
We had such a fun week/few days with the Biesingers.
We enjoyed gorgeous weather.
We ate yummy food...lots and lots of s'mores, bagels and mexican food.
We celebrated my 32 Birthday!
Watched the sunset.
Lillie and I ran a few days in below 80 degree weather, what a treat.
Captain Blackbeard left a great treasure map, and thee kids found a candy filled treasure.
Told scary campfire stories.
And mainly sat enjoyed each others company outside of the desert.
It was a perfect week. I think next year we will try for longer.

These 2 really are lovers and haters these days. One hour they are playing together, entertaining each other with who knows what...and then the next hour Sawyer is doing everything in his power to bug Mags, and she is letting us all know with her SCREAMING!
I am just so glad that we have hit the age with Magnolia that she can now play and not just want me to hold her and entertain her myself. I must say I love her, but it gets a little old having someone attached to me all day.
I can't wait for them to get older and love each other more, and maybe not love each other sometimes too.

a mini girls trip to Palm Springs

Rachelle came down from Arizona for the weekend to celebrate our birthdays, which are the same day. We decided to get away, sort of, and stay in Palm Springs. It was fun to feel like we were somewhere completely different even though I am usually right there a few times a week.
We spent most of our time lounging at the pool, talking, laughing, and eating yummy food. It amazing how just 2 days away can really make me feel refreshed and I can enjoy being a mother so much more. Of course I love my kids...
Rachelle loves Norma's at the Parker Hotel, so we went there for breakfast one morning. I am not normally a breakfast eater so it was a little hard to justify a 30 dollar crepe and diet coke, but the ambiance was so cute, and the food really was amazing. They started us with a little shot of a strawberry-lemonade smoothie that was to die for!
We also met a couple at the pool who were swingers. That made for a very interesting and informative afternoon. I can honestly say that those last few hours at the pool when I was dripping sweat and burning a little, went quicker than most.
Oh, how I love a little girl time away!

Beach House... part 1

We spent three weeks at my parents house, and the beach house. It was heaven. I normally start to feel a little stir crazy to get back to my own bed, routine, husband and what not. This time I wasn't ready to leave yet (except for missing Tyson of course!).
I met my best friends from growing up for dinner one night. I think we stayed and chatted for like 4 hours. It was so fun. I wish time didn't go so fast, and life wasn't so busy. I wish we could do this more often.
I spent some time with some of my best friends from college. We had ours kids play. I love how our loves have changed so much, but our friendship doesn't.
We had the Hoffman's over one night for an early bon-fire. I love s'mores!
